Red, Black and White
Every artist creates a style, something recognizable of themselves in the world. I am inspired by many things, and don’t like to be tied to one aspect. But I find the palette of “red, black and white” to be simple, yet complex in so many ways. Creating a limitation for one’s work at times can enable infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

INTO THE MIST This painting depicts a woman in a red kayak paddling across dark water into a thick fog. The water has reflections and ripples, and the background appears to be misty or foggy, creating a sense of depth. The woman in the kayak wears a red cap and life jacket and is holding a paddle with a blue blade. The kayak is positioned horizontally on the right hand side of the painting. Two black cats are perched on the bow of the kayak. This colour palette is black, white and red.
